….doesn’t mean your business will work anywhere. In fact it may be successful just because it’s you that runs it or just because of your unique location. Before you start to franchise you’ll need to run a pilot operation, at arm’s length from your current business, to prove that it is viable in other areas of the country and can be run by someone new to the business.
In fact if you can afford it, it’s a really good idea to open in several new locations to test the adequacy of your systems, procedures and training. The lessons learned during this phase will reap huge dividends once you start to franchise – and will help sell the concept to potential franchisees.
